DIANA BATHING WITH THE SON OF CALISTO
According to Greek mythology Jupiter impregnates Callisto who is part of the entourage of the chase goddess of hunting Diana, and is also therefore sworn to chastity. Once Diana discovers she is pregnant she disowns Callisto and banishes her. Here I have painted Diana in possession of Callisto's son.
I have always liked this image of a young Jodi Foster and was interested to use her in a classical setting.
